Mirror Elevation Mount

mirror elevation mount                   heliostat with elevation mount indicated

The elevation cord pulls back and releases the mirror. This way it increases or decreases the elevation of it. One end of the elevation cord is attached to the elevation servo the other end goes via the pulley nail to the mirror elevation mount.

Construction of the mirror elevation mount

1 Cut two small blocks with 3cm by 2.5 cm dimension and 7mm thickness

2 Mark the position (middle of upper mirror side) where the mirror elevation mount goes und put mirror fixing tape there.

4 Cut a crease into the block with the utility knife. It should be big enough to take in the cord. Make a simple overhand knot into the cord and lay it into the crease. Fix it with staples as shown in the pic.

5 Glue the second block onto the first one, fixing the cord and the staples. The cord is now safely fixed to the upper end of the mirror.
